Ignite the Fire!

Currently this pack is confirmed to be functional on 19w04a-19w11a

Hello, this is a datapack re-creating an old project of mine, I'm not excellent at explaining it, but I will try my best. The idea of this is a new method of crafting/refining materials, you place a block in the input slot, and receive an output.

There are currently 62 different inputs to discover, if a block doesn't work, break it, re-ignite the forge (just light a fire in the input slot) and try a different one. The forge is fully customize-able, the only way for a forge to be destroyed is to break the diamond block hidden inside, and you will know when it's dead.

Raids! Now, rarely, your forge may get a visitor. Sometimes those who are magically inclined may want to check out your forge, and probably don't like that your keeping all this power to yourself. Keep your guard up!

To those who can translate from English to another language- there is full translation support, I would appreciate help translating this pack to as many languages as possible, if you are interested in helping, please do message me.
Currently Supported Languages:
Spanish (Translation by pmc user Lunos)

Additionally, this pack is modular, so you can add and remove recipes easily, I will have a tutorial up soon. I have put a lot of effort into making this pack developer friendly, and there are debug readouts and a debug display. To activate the display just use /trigger hellfire_debug, if you can't trigger it just do /scoreboard players enable @s hellfire_debug and try again. Additionally there are a few additional commands associated with that trigger, if you trigger and set the value to 201 you receive a heart, and if you do 202 you get an extinguished heart

Installation instructions:
To install this datapack, just copy the files from this zip into the folder for the world you want to use it in.
The resorces.zip file should be in the main directory with the icon.png and level.dat files, and the hellfire.zip should be in the save files' datapack folder.

If you have questions, ideas, or problems, please feel free to say below.

Have Fun!

Wouldn't it be better if instead of a resources folder, the content of that .zip was simply included with the rest of the datapack directly? Or is that not possible to do?

In any case, this looks like a pretty cool mod honestly. I like the idea of transmuting items into something else. Using a Forge to do it and seeing the process that it goes through is also pretty cool visually.
Nice work dude :)

EDIT: Btw, I couldn't help but notice there is a seemingly (Google translated?) unfinished Spanish translation inside the resources folder. If you need any help with that just let me know. I'm a native Spanish speaker myself and I like to help with this kind of small tasks.

EDIT2: I tested it a little while ago and it's working correctly on the latest snapshot (19w11b).
I had a small isse with the resourcepack in the resources.zip folder, but once I solved it, everything looked correctly.

Hey! Really cool looking pack!

Just a word of advice though, don't do drop crafting...

Really love the idea of the extinguished blaze heart though!

I always have a few ideas to avoid the drop crafting, but for the blaze heart I like the intreaction of it. when it comes to the structure, that is always in a toss up for me, I am trying to think of a better way to do it, but I can't think of a better way that doesn't involve something else just as convoluted. I generally have the idea that there is always something weird and convoluted somewhere. I suppose I use a nether portal as an example from in the core game

True, burning it kinda makes sense.

Also, for the structure, you can have the structure recipe in the crafting table give you a furnace block, which when you place down places one furnace and then starts building the furnace around it block by block. (You do this using advancements for placing something)

The only problem is that NBT crafting is not supported, and I know a workaround for the RESULT having NBT (Advancements again, this time for crafting), but I don't know a way to have the recipe itself require items with NBT :/

Yea, I have done advancement crafting before, and also I very well could build the structure like that, but I prefer the instant effect, kinda makes it feel more powerful? In time I may change it though.

Also if I could use custom nbt input for crafting I absolutely would make forge components that you then assemble in a crafting table. That would also allow for forge upgrades in a different way. Sadly for now drop crafting is what I am using. You did spark an idea with the blaze heart though that I may consider, using an extinguished heart, 1 diamond block, 1 gold block, and a fire charge then could output an ignited one, but I am kinda attached to my thing.

Thanks for the input!

I agree, it does make it feel rather powerful!
But yeah, we're kind of in a bind without NBT crafting :/

Cool pack altogether though!!

Guys? How to do CustomModelData? I had no idea how that works. It would be really helpful to know how to use that

Small tip for future reference: imo it's easier to provide a zip file containing just the datapack itself (<datapackname>.zip/data/...) so people just pop it into saves/<world>/datapacks, rather than messing around with overwriting the folders and stuff.

Believe it or not, I was in the middle of making something extremely similar! Though you've done a few things I hadn't thought to do like the furnace functionality. Good ideas and hope the pack does well! Hope to see you in trending

Yea,I thought as much, but I wanted to try just having it be a one drag action, perhaps in the next version I'll just have it be the normal way.
